On January 21, 2025, a breach occurred in the Bodri River embankment, which caused a flash flood in Kebonharjo Village, Patebon District, Kendal Regency. The flash flood was so fast, it occurred in the early hours of the morning, which resulted in residents around the embankment not having time to save their belongings in their respective homes.
Flash floods in Patebon District, Kendal Regency, Central Java, especially in the market and shopping area of Kebonharjo Village, caused residents’ houses to be quite badly damaged, especially in the area closest to the broken embankment.
In addition to damaging houses, the mud puddles after the flash flood also made it difficult for residents to evacuate and clean their homes. Residents said the height of the mud after the flood reached 40 cm and entered the entire area of the house.
On January 24, 2025, PT Maju Bersama Gemilang conducted a direct review of the flood-affected location and met several residents and volunteers who were still cleaning and evacuating valuables that could still be saved.
The PT MBG team also met several affected residents and confirmed the assistance currently needed by the affected residents.
Distribution of Basic Necessities by MBG
As one of the companies located in Kendal Regency, MBG participated in helping to ease the burden of flood victims in Patebon District, Kendal Regency. The assistance provided was in the form of basic necessities (rice, sugar, cooking oil, instant noodles, tea), several cleaning tools, and also towels.
At the time of the aid handover, PT MBG represented by Chen Weizheng as COO and Fuad as HR-GA Manager handed over the aid directly to residents represented by the head of RT 3 RW 5 Kebonharjo Village, Patebon District, Kendal Regency, namely Sulaiman.
PT MBG handed it over directly to residents with the hope that the assistance provided can be distributed properly and correctly to affected residents and be beneficial for residents in need. The handover of this aid is also a CSR program from PT MBG and as a form of concern for existing issues, especially in Kendal Regency – Indonesia.
